RE: All of the New mods...

Well, it took me same time to do all of these mods but I thought I would share them with you guys...
Thanks
Gotta admit, everything looks GREAT. Nice jobs. About the only thing I would have done different, is added corner reinforcements to the bike rack frame where you welded the tube to the reciever hitch.
And also instead of using flat stock where you have it bolted, I would have used the same size tube with reinforced corner angles.
It just looks like it will break after miles of bouncing around.
Other that that I love it! http://homesteadexchangenetwork.net/smf/Smileys/default/MG_ThumbsUp_F.gif
All of the welds where done at a welding shop and I showed him/told him what I was doing with the bike rack and this is what he did. Should I have him add some braces???
thanks

RE: All of the New mods...

I like the clothes line. I will start on this one very soon. I am curious about the bungees you have. One goes from the bumper to the top of the clothes line. I am assuming this one help keep the clothes line more stable. But there are two more that go up to the top of the trailer. What are they used for?
It was for the cover that I had on the RV. I did the clothes line during last spring break. Still had it covered at that point.

RE: All of the New mods...

On your bike rack........does the addition of the welded bike frame make the whole slide in assemble a little un-wheel y? Could you have made the bike assembly attach, with oh say a harden pin or two, thus keeping the two separate except when needed?
Now, I still have to take off one tire for each bike that is on the rack so that it will past by the gas tanks on the trailer but it does work well. I have been on two long trips this past year and no problems yet...

RE: A few observations from Myrtle Beach

Well, this was your family's trip to Myrtle Beach. We stayed at the SP there and had a great time. The Canada thing was kinda weird. As I rode my bike around the campsite more and more plates said Quebec. Seemed like a far drive for all of them to come to MB. Also, as I read the paper one day it said that there was a 7% decrease in the amount of rooms that were sold this year over last years. Looks like the gas prices are making a difference.

RE: All of the New mods...

Great job!
I really like the clothes line. However, what do you do with it when travelling?
It will all break down. I did not glue any of the PVC together. Once you take it apart I roll it up and place it under the bed in the RV.

RE: Curved Shower Curtain Rod?

I got the one from the lakeside collection also. It was the easiest thing that I have done with the camper so far. Took 5 minutes to do and looks good.

Myrtle Beach State Park...

We just got back from our first family trip to Myrtle Beach. We went to the the State Park and had a great time. No late night load noise and just loved the park. Can't wait to go back next year. Since, I never heard to much about the park I wondered if I made the right choice. Well, I am happy to say yes. Just thought I would mention the park if people are looking for options.

RE: Axle went bad....

Now you guys will really love this... When I took the trailer in I told them that we will need it back in two and a half weeks to go on vacation (Out of state). Now we know that axle is bad, so it will need to be fixed one way or another. So, yesterday my wife call up there and they told us that they are still waiting to hear back from the warranty people. My wife explained that we all no that it needs to get fixed one way or another and we will be leaving for vacation on Friday...So just fix it. Well, they still said they have to wait for the warranty people. Finally my wife called and talked to the manager and he is going to get this thing taken care of. Are big thing was fix it and we can figure out who is going to pay for it later... Why send pictures and just have it sit on the lot for a week in a half and wait till you hear back from whomever...

RE: Can you easily change thermostat in RV?

Now, can I use the same wiring guide for my furance that does not have an AC that is used by the same thermostat? Also, do I need the extra fan switch if it is only used for the furance. How I see it I can always use the fan setting on my overhead AC. I know that this has proably been asked before.
thanks

question about camping...What do you think???

I have general question of everyone on here. On our last vacation we were at a campground (I will not say were) and our camp site was around 3 to 4 sites away from the bathrooms. Well, everyone on the other side of our site would walk through our site to go to the bathroom. Now, I am not saying on the edge of our site but between the camper and the SUV. Once, my wife was getting something out of the back end of the SUV and she had to wait for the people to walk through before she could open the back end. We have not camped long but this has never happened any other time. What would you do if this happened to you???
thanks

Axle went bad....

I have a Jag II that I just bought last year. Well, we went on a couple of long trips (Out West and Out East). While on the last trip my wife noticed that one of the tires was going bald on the outer 2 inches of the tire. While at one of the stops, a guy came out to our campsite and rotated the balding tire to the other side and told me it looks like a bent axle. Well, we made it home and now it is in the shop. Should I have to pay to get it fixed? Also, has this happened to others in such a short time after buying a new trailer?
thanks for the comments.

RE: Campgrounds in Hershey, PA

The main reason we did not go to Hershey Highmeadow is because the trains run all night long out there. Just thought you may want to know... Check the map of the campgrounds...
